GDPR at EasyTranslate
Your data privacy and security are paramount to us. We continuously evaluate and improve our platform infrastructure, processes and cooperations to make sure that you can entrust us with your data. This is for you to have peace of mind, and for us to make sure that we keep to a strict data protection regime under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What’s all this about?
When you sing up to any given online service, data about you and your purchases are being processed - this probably comes as no surprise to you. But for the online world not to spiral out of control, regulations are necessary. Most importantly, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides guidance on how to act as a service provider in Europe and for anyone processing European Citizens’ data. So good news, your data are safe and the regulations are there to make sure of it!
What does this mean?
It means that we all have to abide by extensive and strict rules about your personal data and that everyone we work with has to do the same.
So, when you sign up for EasyTranslate to have your contracts proofread or your reports translated, you can rest assured that we will handle those documents with utmost care.

How have you worked with the GDPR?
Since its introduction on 25th of May 2018 we have worked intensively to comply with the GDPR requirements, and go beyond. We have built a robust platform infrastructure, which we continuously improve. We evaluate our processes and cooperations on an ongoing basis to stay best in class. To verify this, we undergo an external ISAE3000 audit annually.
Can I access, edit, move, and/or delete my data whenever I like?
Of course - they are your data! Your Account Settings page gives you full control over your data. Simply go to “My Account” and you can edit, export, and delete your data, at the touch of a button. When it comes to the personal data in your source and translation files - you can delete these files at any time under the respective project, or simply trust our internal data retention process. Go to your Account Settings to get more information and to choose your preferred file retention option.
What do you do with my data?
We only collect information which will allow us to perform our job on your behalf, in the most efficient manner possible. This is why we collect your contact details, professional and financial data, as well as your source files. While we use your information for the purpose of creating a platform account, managing your projects and invoicing you, we use your files to translate what you need to have translated.
Where can I learn and read more about how my data is processed by you?
Will my data be processed in third countries?
Given that we have many different clients with varying setups, this answer is not a 1:1. We use different subprocessors, some in third countries, most in the EU. Due to the different needs, the subprocessors listed here are not necessarily all applicable to your specific settings. The list indicates the purpose of each subprocessor. If you have any questions on which subprocessors are applicable in your specific case, please contact us.
This being said, we have valid data processing agreements (DPAs) with all our subprocessors. That means we have the legal basis for the transfer of your data and monitor the compliance thereof, as well as the subprocessors’ compliance with data protection overall.
